Excellent work with the site. You've enabled me to get to work on my truck with much more confidence. I've used your power steering flush and your ball joint replacement write-ups. I have to admit that during the ball joint replacement I became extremely jelous of your posi-lock puller... It sure looked a hell of a lot easier than my pry bar and 3lb hammer... My shoulders still hurt two days later. Keep up the good work and many thanks.

Great site, very informative. I just replaced the ball joints on my f250. After 100,ooo miles in the rust belt I found it quite difficult to get things apart. To get the locking hub off I found it nessesary to make two cuts with a hack saw about 1/16 inch deep into the hub 180 degrees apart next to the bearing hub. Then I pryed it out with two flat screwdrivers. The bearing hub was so tight I had to torch the old ball joints off, then take the knuckle/hub/axle to the bench and proceed with a large hammer/punch/chisel.After that the studs needed replaced also. Its too bad Ford couldn't afford an engineer to come up with a better design. If they would have made it greasable from the start I wouldn't have had to replace them at all.

Thanks for a great site. I did a power steering flush today I had to do it in the mud since I found a crack in my jack stand. Glad I found the crack but that mud was a mess. Thanks again!!!!

Awesome write-up. I cannot stress enough to people those needle bearings and axle surfaces!!! I just changed my needle bearing (B2110 at Napa, $12.00) and the dealer was ready to charge close to $800. Do it yourself, there is absolutely nothing to fear with taking these apart.
